Since its introduction in 1964, the Buck 110 Hunter has become one of the most influential folding knives ever produced. At a time when fixed blades dominated the hunting market, Buck proved a folding knife could deliver comparable strength and reliability through its robust lockback design. The Model 110 helped establish the modern lockback folding knife and remains one of the most recognizable American knife designs ever made.

In 1972, Buck introduced the Model 112 Ranger after sailors aboard the USS Ranger requested a more compact version of the 110 that complied with the ship's blade-length restrictions. Buck shortened the blade while retaining the same lockback mechanism and premium construction, creating another American classic that remains in production today.

The Buck 55, introduced in 2004, scaled the legendary 110 down into a compact everyday carry folder while preserving the same timeless styling and dependable lockback design.
